DANIEL TURKEWITZ is a screenwriter and former architect whose first screenplay, “Blueprint,” a bank caper, was optioned by Mark Wolper and The Wolper Organization in December 2001, and put into development at TNT.
Since then, Turkewitz has written three more scripts and four treatments. In 2007 “Tranquility Base” was named a Gold Prize winner in the Science Fiction category of The PAGE International Screenplay Awards. It was one of 10 first place winners out of 3,411 entries. PAGE is one of five competitions “Tranquility Base” has received recognition in.
Three other feature-length scripts, “The Wright Stuff” and “Tails From The Forest,” as well as “Blueprint” and a short script, have moved up in writing competitions.
Prior to his work as a screenwriter, Turkewitz was an architect in New York City where he specialized in 3-D renderings and computer animation.
Turkewitz received a Bachelor of Architecture from Illinois Institute of Technology in 1987. He received a Certificate in Screenwriting in 2001 from the New York University’s School of Continuing Education and resides in New York City. He currently provides movie coverage for Emerging Pictures.

Turkewitz has edited a short film, “Under The N,” for filmmaker Johnny Salvatore and Brooklyn Atlantic Films. The film has been accepted for viewing at numerous festivals. Turkewitz has also served as set photographer and 2nd A.D. for “Sodom By The Sea,” another short from Brooklyn Atlantic Films accepted for viewing at numerous festivals. He has also edited several concert videos shot in a club on the Lower East Side in NYC.
In the fall of 2009 Turkewitz worked as a photographer for several film festivals in New York City.
